Musical Bits and Pieces

Assorted musical groups are an integral part of many U3As around the world. Our U3A is no exception.

Below is a selection from links members have recommended. It was a challenge to know when to stop! Hopefully the list (in no particular order) includes something of interest to everyone.

Sing-along words (printable) and a little bit of background information for Rise Again and You Raise Me Up. Please let me know if there are other links that you think are worth sharing – no promises about adding them though as it is a time consuming process, but I will try.

NZ Symphony Orchestra website (a lot of listening!)

Read about and listen to 7-year-old Greek pianist and composer, Stelios Kerasidis. His playing is magical! (Scroll down the page to find the video)
How can anyone not love this from 12-year-old Sicilian violinist twins, Mirko and Valerio.
In my view the best version of Sounds of Silence ever!
And to confirm the views of those who have doubts about my musical tastes Phantom of the Opera by Nightwish
There is also a very funny NZ Police Covid-19 advert featuring the Topp Twins that may or may not attach itself to one of the YouTube clips. I was a bit slow to capture it and have not been able to find again. Don’t skip it if it pops up as it’s well worth watching!
